I thought it might be worth updating the about me section. Fair warning I am terrible at talking about myself! Hello I’m Siobhain the blogger behind ‘whatyoutolkienabout’. I am in my early thirties and live in Devon, England with my cat (Goku, see the third picture!) and other furry and feathered friends.
I have loved reading from an early age thanks to my family, especially my nan. I have a BA in English Literature and MA in English Literature Renaissance Studies.
I will read just about anything but my favourite genres are speculative, fantasy, horror and historical. Like my genres I have a wide taste of what I enjoy reading including Manga, Prose, Poetry, Comic Books and Audiobooks. Some of my favourite authors including Christina Henry, Carrie Harris, Edgar Allen Poe, Christopher Marlowe and Steve Niles.
My interest in the above authors has seen me create this blog where I will publish essays from my university days as well as new research and things of interest to me including research for my own works etc. All content is (C) me with accreditation given to those who I have cited along the way.
I adore finding new books to read or experiencing new genres so love recommendations. My reviews are posted on my blog, goodreads, book sirens, netgalley my social media and retail sites like amazon and waterstones.
Outside of books I also enjoy gaming (in all it’s varied forms), writing, walking (at my own pace!) and various crafts.
I hope to help encourage people to pick up books and learn the joy of reading whether it is via Physical, Electronic or Audio.
